ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Techspressionism: New Visual Languages presents the work of fourteen artists from the international Techspressionism community at Mémoire de l’Avenir, a contemporary art space in the Belleville neighborhood of Paris. Curated by Margalit Berriet, founder and director of Mémoire de l’Avenir, with co-curator Helen Margaret Giovanello, the exhibition is presented in two parts: Group A, from January 22 to February 20, 2027, and Group B, from February 26 to March 27, 2027.

Techspressionism is an artistic approach in which technology is utilized as a means to express emotional experience. It is also an international community of artists working with technology, who meet online in monthly salons to share their work and discuss ideas related to art and technology. The artists in New Visual Languages work with digital painting, photography, animation, medical imaging, game engines, 3D modeling and AI-assisted processes, among other tools.

An exhibition catalog with a foreword by art historian Helen A. Harrison accompanies the show. A video reel of motion works by Techspressionist artists will also be screened in the gallery and online.
