LoVid is known for employing analog video as the source of their visual output with snared electric energy. In recent years LoVid is increasingly embedding images from nature and social interactions into their work. Presented here are two digital paintings, melding terrain and technology through craft: lush hyperspaces which offer both confusion and comfort, together with abstraction taken straight from the voltaic realm.
LoVid, Tali Hinkis and Kyle Lapidus, have worked together since 2001. LoVid’s work has been exhibited and presented internationally at venues including: Postmasters Gallery, Marquee Projects, SPRING/BREAK Art Show, And/Or Gallery, Parrish Museum, Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, Issue Project Room, Mixed Greens Gallery, The Science Gallery Dublin, The Jewish Museum, MoMA, The Kitchen, Moving Image Art Fair, Daejeon Museum, Smack Mellon, Netherland Media Art Institute and many more.
