Sue Beyer, Untitled 3, 2020. Digital video, 1920 x 1080 px. Duration: 2min 19 secs. Ed. of 1. NFS.
This work was created using a process called ‘data moshing’ to create an error or glitch in the movie Xanadu (1980). During this process the materiality of the digital file is laid bare, revealing an in-between space. This process is a metaphor for my personal transformation.
Sue is an Australian artist who uses a multidisciplinary approach to focus on ideas relating to sensory thresholds, transformation and the in-between. Beyer’s work is part of numerous corporate and public collections including Artbank, an Australian Government art collection. Sue completed a research MFA in 2018 and is represented by Studio Gallery Group in Melbourne and Bos Fine Art in The Netherlands.
