PROJECTION
The LACDA projection space featured “Threshold,” a video installation by Lucy Boyd-Wilson comprising a curated collection of four videos.
These four works occupy a threshold, between the digital and the physical, the intimate and the vast, the stable and the dissolving.
- Metasource was born inside the metaverse, churning yet strangely meditative. It asks where reality originates before it becomes something we can name.
- Habitat also created as a metaverse, hovers in ambiguity. Suspended between earthbound and aquatic, it is an environment without a fixed nature, familiar yet unplaceable.
- House on Fire speaks of catastrophe. Our structures overwhelm the land. And those structures themselves, tilt and churn: structures of justice and democracy and decency, which we trusted to keep us safe.
- Tree passes through moods and seasons in continuous motion. It holds memory and change simultaneously.
Together, these works ask: what do we inherit, what do we build, what do we lose, and what keeps growing through it all?
