“Streaming Flowers”, from the series “Counting”, began during the pandemic. I’d been tracking friends impacted by Covid, and desired to uplift their spirit. The universal flower spoke. Through sourcing world museums, I painted clusters of porcelain blossoms from different cultures. These became the nexus to activate the lenticular media streaming the oils and algorythmic waves and engage the power of transformation. Lenticular is a fabrication process, using 2 software programs and optical lens.
Strandell’s work examines the intersection of nature and technology in our participation of culture through painting, 3d lenticular, installation, and animation.
