Techspressionist Artist Interview Series #1 – January 22, 2021

In this video, Colin Goldberg is interviewed by Roz Dimon where he speaks about his art, its influences and the way Techspressionism relates to the history and the future of art.  Goldberg’s artwork explores the intersection of technology and Expressionism. The artist coined the term Techspressionism as the title of a 2011 solo exhibition in Southampton, NY. Techspressionism was first described as a movement in the 2014 WIRED article “If Picasso had a MacBook Pro”, and it has since grown into an international community of artists working with technology.  Goldberg lives and works in the Green Mountain National Forest in Southern Vermont. The artist is a recipient of grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts. His paintings reside in the permanent collections of the Islip Art Museum, Stony Brook Medicine, and the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center.
