Claudia Hart is a pioneering trans-media artist whose work bridges the analog and digital worlds. Trained in art and architectural history at NYU and Columbia, she began exhibiting in the New York art scene before moving into virtual imaging in the early 1990s. Since then, Hart has explored simulation technologies from a feminist perspective, reimagining Western canons through fantastical, theatrical, and often haunting digital worlds. Her practice spans 3D animation, VR, AR, and computer-fabricated objects — all part of her conceptual exploration of media, history, and identity. Writing and performance are central to her work: Hart creates immersive environments where she gives voice to allegorical, symbolic narratives — spaces that reflect on the present through the lens of myth and art history. Her first retrospective, Pattern and Politics, is on view at the Francisco Carolinum Linz  from August 28, 2025, until early 2026.
